Persuasive

Haven’t said much about the primaries because I’ve been truly uncommitted up to this point. I voted for Hillary, but not because I have a strong commitment to her. It was mainly a show a solidarity with some people in my life who were really hoping for her to win. Neither candidate is liberal enough for me, but I have to admit that these are the best two candidates we’ve had since . . . well . . . maybe since ever. So I’ve been content to let them fight it out and spend my time on issues. However, I think Obama has been improving his game lately, and I think John Holbo is persuasive here. What I want is for the candidate with best chance of winning to win the nomination, and for the party apparatus (and the candidates) to focus on McCain. I have no idea which candidate has the best chance of winning at this point, or why the party is not swinging harder at McCain.

Updated:

Phoenix Woman has some numbers that suggest Obama’s speech may have contained the damage. I’m interested to see what his numbers look like early next week, and to see what the candidates do in Penn.
