		<description>I agree, Redeye. That show has never been very good, but it&#039;s gotten particularly disgusting since she came on board. She and Matt Lauer have a sort of negative synergy. Being on the same show makes both of them more vapid and self-righteous than either could manage by themselves.

He was trying to liken the occupation of Iraq to our occupations Germany and Japan, and to our presence in South Korea. The possibility of staying in Iraq 100 years was in there somewhere. Some McCain opponents are using the comment to say that McCain supports a 100-year war in Iraq. The media is jumping all over them and &quot;fact-checking&quot; them and using the incident to make it seem as though anyone who isn&#039;t behind McCain is guilty of distorting his statement. I&#039;ll try and dig up some links for you when I have a second. Lots of people on both sides are saying stuff about it -- some smart, but mostly not-so-smart.</description>
